What is Hearing Conservation Program ?
Hearing conservation program (HCP) is a customized industrial consultancy program designed to help companies with workers who are exposed to loud noise at the workplace. Depending on the loudness and duration of exposure, our consultant occupational health doctor (OHD) will evaluate each exposed worker and come up with a comprehensive plan. Prolonged high exposure to noise at workplace can lead to occupational noise induced hearing loss. Employer can be fined if found guilty by the relevant authority (DOSH).
Prevent Noise Induced Hearing Loss
According to 2015 statistic by DOSH Malaysia, 5366 cases of NIHL were received and 3377 of them were investigated. Meanwhile social security organization (SOCSO), reported an increasing number of claims due to occupational NIHL from year 2004 to 2009. Hearing loss can cause permanent damage to individual and may lead to total deafness. It is estimated that company lost millions of ringgit because of medical bills payment, loss of productivity and worker replacement cost. This problem can be prevented if proper hearing conservative programme is in place.
